    Il y a 300 ans, une terrible bataille a éclaté entre la Terre et Mars. Elle a depuis été surnommée "Guerre des Calamités" et la paix est maintenue, même si les tensions entre les deux fédérations n'ont pas disparu. C'est dans ce contexte que Cordelia arrive sur Terre afin de demander l'indépendance de Cryste, une cité martienne contrôlée par le gouvernement terrien. Pour aller à la rencontre du gouvernement, elle est escortée par la société de sécurité privée CGS dont sont membres Mikazuki Augus et Orga Itsuka. La CGS et Cordelia se retrouvent toutefois attaqués par Gjallarhorn. Pour riposter, Mikazuki utilise le Gundam Barbatos, un Mobile Suit utilisé lors de la "Guerre des Calamités" fonctionnant à l'aide d'un réacteur nucléaire. Le Gundam Barbatos est capable d'utiliser l'équipement de ses adversaires afin de devenir plus puissant. Orga voit en cette attaque une chance de se rebeller contre la CGS et de lancer un coup d'État. Nos deux héros se retrouvent ainsi plongés dans un nouveau conflit qui risque de vite les dépasser...

    Nous voici au lycée de Seika High, établissement de bas étages où les garçons forment 80% des effectifs. C'est dans cet univers très masculin qu'Ayuzawa Misaki, présidente du conseil des élèves, fait régner une discipline militaire. À force de travail et de détermination, ce petit brin de femme a su s'attirer de tous le respect. Belle, énergique, intelligente, Misaki suscite l'admiration parmi les autres filles, qu'elle ne manque jamais de défendre. En revanche, elle répand une terreur sacrée parmi les garçons, qu'elle tient fort peu en estime. C'est particulièrement le cas de son rival masculin, le très calme et respecté Usui Takumi, qui cristallise tous ses griefs. Éternel premier devant Misaki, Usui provoque en plus des océans de larmes en rejetant sans faiblesse les moults prétendantes qui osent se confesser à lui. Ce quotidien n'est qu'une facette de la vie de Misaki. Issue d'une famille pauvre, elle vit dans une maison délabrée, en compagnie de sa mère malade et de sa petite sœur. Pour subvenir à leurs besoins, elle travaille donc à mi-temps comme maid dans un café. Pour ne pas écorner une réputation chèrement acquise, la jeune présidente tient à garder secrète cette double vie. Aussi craint-elle le pire lorsqu'Usui la surprend à son travail. Mais contre toute attente, le jeune garçon révèle un intérêt pour Misaki, qu'il décide de soutenir. Dans l'ombre de la rivalité va naitre une certaine complicité, et peut-être plus...

The battle is called the "Battle at the Garbage Dump" because of the "crow" and "cat" names in the school's name.
